Most plugins work with only Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Photoshop-compatible hosts, but a few can also be run as standalone applications.

Adobe Camera is special Plugin software that was supplied free by Adobe corporations.  It used primarily to read and process raw image files so that the resulting images can be processed by Adobe Photoshop. It can furthermore be used within Adobe Bridge.
